Welcome to the Folkbike Re-Cyclery
The Folkbike ReCyclery is a non-profit, volunteer organization located at 308 Lewis St. in Frankfort, KY. We acquire unwanted used bicycles, restore and repair them, and provide them to people that aren't able to buy a new bike from a local bike shop. Most of our bikes are donated, and some are purchased from yard sales, craigslist, thrift shops, and other sources. Some of the bikes received are refurbished and some are stripped for usable parts to make repairs on others, but they all go to good use.
In addition to making bicycling accessible to individual members of the community, the Folkbike ReCyclery also provides no cost bicycles, parts, and service to the following organizations:
- The Franklin County Women's Shelter
- Access Kitchen (men's shelter)
- S.N.A.P. (Special Needs Adoption Program)
- The King's Center
- The Salvation Army
- The Sunshine Center
- Commonwealth Gardens
The Folkbike ReCyclery is a part of WalkBike Frankfort and operates under the same 501c3 non-profit umbrella. For info. on WalkBike, visit www.walkbikefrankfort.org.
